Principal’s welcome

Ormiston NEW Academy is one of the most recent additions to the family of OAT academies, which together form a multi-academy trust throughout England. We first opened our doors to students on the 1st September 2017 and are proud to serve the local community of Fordhouses, Wolverhampton.

I am honoured to have been appointed Principal since 1st September 2018, after being Head of School at the Ormiston Chadwick Academy, Widnes, which was rated by Ofsted as outstanding in 2016.

At Ormiston NEW Academy we only appoint dedicated and inspirational teachers, all of whom are subject specialists. Staff show their commitment to our students by providing a wide variety of enrichment opportunities, including a combined cadet force, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and our own Football Academy which is available to students in the Sixth Form. Students at NEW have the opportunity to attend peripatetic lessons in music and take part in many performing arts events throughout the year.

Our academy values permeate through everything we do. These values are Calm, Aspiration, Respect and Engagement which together spells CARE; which is at the heart of all we do.

We aim to provide a calm and caring learning environment, with relationships based on mutual respect. We want our families to engage with the academy and our students to have a positive attitude towards their learning, with high levels of engagement and aspirations to lead a successful future.

We aim to provide a calm and caring learning environment

Our academy provides a vibrant learning environment with first class facilities which benefit our students, as well as the local community. Students are well supported in their learning, from when they join us at transition in Year 7, progressing all the way through to Year 13. As a staff, we are proud of the strong, positive relationships which exist between us and our families and this enables each student to benefit from the strong network of pastoral support provided at Ormiston NEW Academy.
